LAW ENFORCEMENT LIAISON

BRIDGES NOT BARRIERS: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM

The Law Enforcement Liaison will play a vital role in fostering collaboration and communication between law enforcement agencies, Live Tampa Bay and our behavioral health and evaluation partners. Your primary objective will be to establish and maintain effective partnerships to improve outcomes for individuals with behavioral health issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a resource and provide technical assistance and training referral support to law enforcement personnel regarding the appropriate referral pathways and community resources available for individuals in need of behavioral health services.
  • Work with law enforcement to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the safe and effective response to individuals in mental health crisis.
  • Assist with coordination and facilitation of regular meetings and debriefings with law enforcement agencies to share information, address concerns, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices related to the intersection of law enforcement and behavioral health.
  • Serve as a liaison between law enforcement agencies and the behavioral health program, advocating for the needs and perspectives of both parties.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate the effectiveness of the behavioral health program and propose enhancements or modifications based on feedback received from law enforcement partners.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and promoting the behavioral health program’s mission and services.
  • Model the delivery of (peer-based) recovery support and/or navigation services to individuals post-overdose.
