Jesse’s contemporary approach to recreating American classics is a reflection of who he is as a chef: equal parts devotee to highly refined techniques + a passion for all things delicious. Schenker first made his mark on the culinary scene in Manhattan with recette, the intimate urban American restaurant which he opened in New York’s West Village in January 2010. In addition to being a twice nominated James Beard Award semi-finalist, Schenker has received a number of awards and accolades, including a spot on Forbes “30 Under 30” list and Schenker was victorious in his battle on Food Network’s Iron Chef America in 2011. Schenker currently lives in Oyster Bay, New York with his family and runs acclaimed dining concepts 2 Spring, Spring St. 2Go and Four.
