Letter from the CEO, May 2026, Newsletter

Dear Community,

Mental health is a vital part of every recovery journey, yet for many, it remains one of the most difficult topics to discuss openly.

Across our community, we see the impact of mental health challenges in many ways within families, faith communities, workplaces, and among individuals navigating recovery. These experiences remind us that mental health is not isolated; it is deeply connected to how we heal, grow, and stay connected to one another.

At Live Tampa Bay, our focus this month is on increasing awareness while also taking meaningful steps to reduce stigma. Creating space for honest conversations, expanding access to peer support, and equipping our community with tools to recognize when someone may be in crisis are all essential parts of this work.

We are especially mindful of the unique experiences represented throughout our community. Faith leaders often serve as trusted guides during difficult moments. Older adults may face challenges such as isolation or major life transitions that affect mental wellbeing. Individuals in recovery are balancing the ongoing work of healing while prioritizing mental wellness as part of that journey. Every perspective matters, and every individual deserves thoughtful, inclusive support.

As we continue to grow, so does our responsibility to ensure our efforts reflect the needs of all those we serve. This includes strengthening connections, learning from lived experiences, and turning awareness into action that makes a meaningful difference.

The path forward calls for compassion, understanding, and a shared commitment to supporting mental health as a core part of community wellbeing. Together, we can help create an environment where individuals feel safe seeking support, where stigma is replaced with understanding, and where recovery is supported in every sense of the word.

Thank you for being part of this work and for the role you play in building a stronger, more connected community.

Yours in service,

Jennifer Webb
