Our Stories: Into the Light

2023 June, Our Stories: Into the Light

The voices of those remaining in the wake of the overdose epidemic must continue to be heard to remind us to not give up the fight. When family members emerge from the dust of grief, loss, defeat, and despair and choose to tell their stories, we are reminded of the reality, weight, and burden of the human impact on our families, and communities.

This month, we highlight local business leader and father, Mike Ortoll, who has turned the tragic loss of his beloved daughter, Christine Ortoll, into an opportunity to shine a light and ignite change within our community through the work of the Christine Ortoll Charity. Mr. Ortoll bravely and loudly shares his story of loss in the documentary, One Second at a Time, and will be one of our panel speakers during our Link, Lunch, & Learn Webinar about fathers and men’s mental health on June 15th at noon.
